Each of the following quotes resonate with me and have given me insight. These quotes make me think and reflect about where I am now and where I am trying to go. Quotes are guides from people who have gone before us– people who have gained wisdom and experience from their own successes and failures. They offer us guidance if we are willing to reflect and comprehend what they are telling us. Maybe some of these quotes won’t resonate with you, but others will. Maybe by sharing these, one of these quotes might be the one you need to read in your life right now.
I have picked quotes about body image, beauty, spiritual understanding, confidence, positivity, attitude, success and finance.
“I’m proud of my body, my body weight will always be something that I’ll struggle with for the rest of my life, but I’m finally in a good place and learning to love me for me and not somebody’s else’s standards.” –Khloe Kardashian
Whether you dislike or love the Kardashian family they are powerful and have a lot of influence. If someone like Khloe who is seen as beautiful and confident has struggles just like the rest of us, then maybe we are just being too hard on ourselves.
“Girls of all kinds can be beautiful– from thin, plus-sized, short, very tall, ebony to porcelain-skinned; the quickly, the clumsy, shy, outgoing and all in between. It’s not easy though because many people still put beauty into a confining, narrow box…think outside of the box…pledge that you will look in the mirror and find the unique beauty in you.” –Tyra Banks
This quote just shows that beauty comes in all forms. There is no one perfect way to be beautiful and Tyra Banks, a renowned model who is just as beautiful, is telling you so.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
This verse is my ultimate favorite. Ever since I was in middle school this verse has found its way into my life. I don’t know if you believe in fate or coincidences but that is how this verse would pop up in my life. It has taken me many years to understand it. But I feel like I’ve yet to truly live up to it. I know myself and I know that I like to control everything that happens in my life. I think this verse has taught me to control what I can, trust the process, and let everything else go– which is not very easy to do.
“Action is a great restorer and builder of confidence. Inaction is not only the result, but the cause, of fear. Perhaps the action you take will be successful; perhaps different action or adjustments will have to follow. But any action is better than no action at all.” –Norman Vincent Peale
This quote really resonates with me. I have a tough time pushing through fear. I always want to, and I know overcoming any of my fears leads to growth and the next level I seek, but the fear I hold onto stops me in my tracks and only action can set me free. How exciting!!
“Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results.” –Willie Nelson
“Positive thinking is more than just a tagline. It changes the way we behave. And I firmly believe that when I am positive, it not only makes me better, but it also makes those around me better.” –Harvey Mackay
I couldn’t pick just one quote. They both resonate with me. I think many people underestimate positive thinking. I am writing from experience when I say that having a positive outlook changes a lot. I was once very negative and everything that would happen to me was wrong in my eyes. I always had something to be angry about and if there wasn’t I definitely made something up. Our perspective is either negative or positive, and it is definitely something we can control.
“Adopting the right attitude can convert a negative stress into a positive one.” –Hans Selye
Our perspective is everything. There is always something good happening in our lives if we are willing to accept and invite it. Let’s not let other circumstances determine who we want to be and how we treat others
“Success isn’t measured by money or power or social rank. Success is measured by your discipline and inner peace.” – Mike Ditka
This message is something I feel like I just learned and am settling into. I used to want to buy everything all at once and have a better status than others. I think this is normal to feel when you compare yourself to others. Now, I buy what I want, not just to impress others or to make a point. I realized that discipline and inner peace are so much more important. They can give you a clarity in your life that money or power can’t give you. Plus, when we truly focus on what we love to do then the rest will come.
“I believe that through knowledge and discipline, financial peace is possible for all of us.” –Dave Ramsey
So true! We set budgets and goals but without commitment and discipline then where are we really headed? We should never stop learning about our finances and implement what works for the kind of lifestyle we want. Financial peace is determined by what we want. It is so important that we put on mental blinders and focus on our finances only. Definitely learned this the hard way. I would compare myself to other people’s lifestyle even if their style was something I didn’t even want. It just cost me money and a negative bank account!!! Focus on what you need because no one else is going to that part for you.
These eight quotes have helped me so much and as you can see from what I have written about them I have learned many life lessons from them. When I read these at the time, they were challenging to comprehend because I just saw the obstacles I was going through. I was just thinking about how I am going to pay for my next bill or why I feel like I am failing or not good enough. After some learning and growing pains, the quotes started to become more of a reality than just something written down. I was actually gaining experiences and wisdom.
Wherever you are in life I hope one of these quotes gave you hope. You are never alone in what you are going through. Remember, positivity and a good attitude are not overrated.
