September Makeup

I often find the month of September to be odd–It is right in the middle between summer and the holiday season. Yet, September helps mark the transition from summer into fall. As each day passes I can feel the anticipation of Halloween, Thanksgiving, and even Christmas approaching. For the rest of this month I want to focus on our mental health; I don’t want to make it sound like we are crazed, but as many of you know, I am a big advocate of self-reflection. Keeping a healthy, balanced mind-set is important, not only for the people we impact on a daily basis, but for own successes in life as well. I hope the pieces I write for you this month will impact you in a positive way and allow you to begin working on perceiving yourself differently.

Karla’s Makeup

Karla’s eye look is very dramatic. I wanted to show you that it’s okay to experiment and enjoy makeup. I feel many of us are always quick to judge a women’s face— Whether she is wearing too much makeup or none at all. It is not up to us to judge. In your point of view, she could use some more makeup or in someone else’s point of view, you aren’t wearing enough. Makeup is all about self-expression and you get to decide what you feel comfortable with.

For Karla’s particular look I focused on her eyes and I used different shades of deep purple. Then, I blended like crazy. So, you can use different colors, like black or even dark browns to achieve the style you want. Of course I can’t forget the eyeliner; for a darker effect I applied Signature Color Black Liquid eyeliner.
