I know I have been centering my blog posts on perseverance and self-confidence, but I do plan writing about different topics! It can be hard to face obstacles and truly see our own value, which is why I have been focused on writing about personal encouragement. Sometimes we can be our own worst enemies; we allow ourselves to think cruel things about our appearances and as time passes, we begin to believe these negative thoughts. When we allow ourselves to think that we are not as beautiful or smart as the others around us, we allow these thoughts to damage the way that we see ourselves.
Another effect of allowing cruel thoughts into our lives is that we start to create limits for ourselves based off our flawed perceptions. If we take the time to start viewing ourselves as the beautiful people we truly are, we will begin to see that we are capable of doing anything our hearts desire. We can create the lives that we have always dreamed of having; doing so will not be a quick process, but it will be worth it in the end!
I know it is hard to change the way that you think about yourself, but it is possible. Take the time to be on your own. Being alone with your thoughts doesn’t have to be scary—it allows you to cleanse out everyone’s opinions and focus on who you want or ought to be. Be stubborn with yourself. I have found that there will always be a side of you that will be scared, but by telling yourself that you are strong enough to realize how wrong those negative thoughts are, you will be able to conquer yourself and see how much good you have to offer the world.
